Dear fellow countrymen,
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War. The Armenian people made a significant contribution to this victory. Armenia and Artsakh gave the world glorious heroes, soldiers, generals, and marshals. Our contribution to the victory is indeed significant. This was one of the most decisive moments in human history, when the civilized world stopped the monstrous fascism.
This is a very sensitive topic for our people. Our fathers, grandfathers, and mothers dedicated their lives, health, and professional skills to the common victory. This victory is part of Armenian history, and this page must be preserved with care and respect, not only in books but also in our thoughts and hearts. We have no right to forget history, and we have no right to allow it to be distorted.
We must properly remember our heroes, the participation of our older generation in this great victory, and we must highlight their immortal deeds for the younger generations.
Today, we are being accused of fascist inclinations from abroad, while we were fully involved in the crushing defeat of true fascism. Today, they try to divide us into pro-Western and pro-Russian factions to weaken our will.
During the Second World War, we Armenians, together with our brotherly Russian people and alongside other nations of the Soviet state, fought against real fascism, preserving every inch of our homeland and our dignity with our blood. We Armenians also played an undeniable role in organizing the French Resistance against the same fascism.
The 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War is a crucial anniversary for all the civilized and peace-loving nations.
I have instructed the staff of the "Tsarukyan" charity foundation to launch a large-scale program, as well as to support the initiatives of other individuals and organizations aimed at highlighting the importance of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War, honoring the heroes, evaluating our united past, and presenting the historical and civilizational significance of this victory.
We are a part of this great and valuable victory, and we must be proud of it.
