The inaugural meeting of the coordinating council of the "Proposal for Armenia" project took place the other day.
Under one roof, esteemed individuals with impressive backgrounds and significant public standing, representing various fields and generations, gathered together, where party affiliation was of no consequence.
This meeting was preceded by my numerous meetings with public, political, and civic figures, as well as representatives of various circles, the result of which is the respectable and solid composition of the project's coordinating council.
Being fully aware that we are now in a pre-election phase and the formation of electoral lists is an inevitable process, I want to begin this stage with words of gratitude and appreciation, because the overwhelming majority of our colleagues have accepted the principle I published weeks ago: that the position does not matter—the state matters; that the mandate does not matter, but the result of the work does.
I am genuinely amazed that, to this day, none of those I have met with have raised the issue of a mandate or a place on the list.
This speaks to team and individual qualities; this speaks to the quality of the team.
This is a guarantee of success, for we are shaping a new quality of public cooperation, a new set of rules of the game.
Many, from the very beginning, have said that they do not aspire to any list or any position; many have said, "place us as you see fit," because this is not a program for a single election or a single day, but a program for Armenia's post-war recovery.
We will walk this path together and will undoubtedly achieve our goal: to have guaranteed peace and a prosperous Armenia.
