PAP visited the village under the burst of machine-gun fire Residents of bordering communities of Tavush marz who are living under the burst of machine-gun fire complain about not the shooting but the domestic problems, high loans, lack of potable water and paid text-books. This was told to Aravot.am by the “Prosperous Armenia” party leader Naira Zohrabyan, who is currently visiting the border villages with her fellow-party members. Ms. Zohrabyan said that they had visited Voskevan, Sevqar, Baghanis and Kayaranavan villages and met with residents and the village mayors. “People really have a psychology of a border guard, they are under the burst of machine-gun fire every day, but there is no panic, they are ready to fight to the end.”
The parliamentarian was surprised at how the government allows the banks to issue loans to the residents of these border villages by 24%. “The houses of these people taken by the loan are damaged by a gunfire. A villages of Kayaranavan community showed un his apartment that suffered serious damage from shooting by Azerbaijan. The residents of border villages complain that the textbooks for the schoolchildren are payable. There are 160 pupils here. Isn’t it possible to provide free textbooks to these schoolchildren? I talked to the Minister of Education and Science, Armen Ashotyan, to give a solution to this problem,” said Zohrabyan. Naira Zohrabyan said that there is a village that does not even have potable water, a two-faucet and a suspicious quality water is coming. “Children are under stress, they do not come out of the basements. Now, I officially apply to the Minister of Health, Armen Muradyan, let him sent a group of doctors and psychologists to the border communities for assistance,” said Ms. Zohrabyan.
According to her, the children are removed from these communities. In Sevqar community, they visited the house where Azerbaijanis shots pierced the wall and, fortunately, children had left the house five minutes ago. Zohrabyan also assured that they will come up with legislative initiative so that the residents of these border communities would receive out-of-turn deposits from the SberBank. As for the damaged houses, the PAP leader assured that they will raise this issue at the government sitting. PAP member Vahe Enfiajyan, in the conversation with us, told that there is no panic among the civilians of bordering villages, their fighting spirit is in its place, people do not feel constrained, and our armed forces have given an adequate response to the Azerbaijani side. “Complex political situations are evolved there, therefore, they create such a situation on the border,” said Enfiajyan.
