Five non-government factions of Armenian National Assembly intend to conduct hearings on the electricity price increase. ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Prosperous Armenia, Armenian National Congress and Heritage factions decided this during a meeting at the Prosperous Armenia faction.

Orinats Yerkir Party’s representative did not participate in the meeting, but Orinats Yerkir faction has also expressed its support for the initiative.

Armenian National Congress parliamentary faction on Friday launched a signature campaign to include in the agenda of the upcoming parliament session the issue of setting up a parliamentary commission to consider the electricity price increase, head of the faction, Levon Zurabyan, told reporters on Friday.

Leader of Prosperous Armenia Naira Zohrabyan said on Monday that after the hearings they will discuss the issue of setting up the parliamentary commission. She noted that representatives of the concerned agencies will be invited to the hearings.
