Nagorno-Karabakh needs further peaceful negotiations under the mediation of OSCE

AECR President Jan Zahradil emphasized on Monday that there is no alternative to peaceful negotiations for the landlocked Southern-Caucasian region Nagorno-Karabakh. OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs should mediate these negotiations and one-sided resolutions should be avoided, Zahradil mentioned according to Armenpress.

He stressed:

The only sustainable solution for the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict is peaceful negotiations. The OSCE should continue to work closely with Armenia, Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh in order to build up mutual trust and find a well-balanced agreement.

Zahradil met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan in Yerevan. Both highlighted the importance of cooperation between AECR and Armenian political parties, and they expressed their deep interest in strengthening the relationship between European countries and Armenia.

Jan Zahradil is currently visiting Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan. Armenia and Azerbaijan have been holding peace talks mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group on the Nagorno-Karabakh region since the end of the Nagorno-Karabakh War in 1994.
