Meeting at the NA Standing Committee on European Integration

On February 10, the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration Naira Zohrabyan met with Johannes Douma, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Armenia.

In the course of the meeting the sides discussed the agenda of the RA-EU future legal document. The Committee Chair has noted that the political component of the document to be signed in future could be fully considered completed and stated that as the EU is one of the RA main partners, the economic component also should be comprehensively reflected in the future legal document. The Ambassador has noted that they have great hopes of Armenia’s European future and assured that they do their best from their side for making the RA-EU cooperation more flexible, dynamic and effective.

The interlocutors also discussed issues relating to the referendum of the Constitutional Amendments held on December 6, 2015, as well as the assessment given the day before by the OSCE/ODIHR. Naira Zohrabyan has noted that in future the serious issue for the RA political forces is going to be the Electoral Code. As the Head of the PAP Faction Mrs Zohrabyan has assured, the Faction led by her would do its utmost in order the Electoral Code prevents all possible illegal interventions and electoral fraud in the electoral process.

The sides also discussed the possibility of holding the electoral process in Armenia through electronic system and the issues of the EU support in that issue.
