On April 13 the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs Elinar Vardanyan met with the PACE President Anne Brasseur.

Welcoming the PACE President, Elinar Vardanyan presented the works done by the Committee led by him, the process of the spheres of the activity, the creation, elaboration and the adoption of the bills. She considered the most important achievement the adoption of the RA draft law “On Provision of Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities for Women and Men.” Mrs Vardanyan also highlighted the cooperation with the NGOs.

In the course of the meeting the sides discussed the provisions of the Istanbul Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, issues concerning the activities of the NGOs in the sphere of the protection of human rights and NA Standing Committees in the legislative work.

The interlocutors also touched other issues.
