Today, I would like to draw everyone’s attention to an issue that must hold a significant place in the “Offer to Armenia” program.

I am addressing the urgent need to combat drug addiction. Drug addiction is an evil that brings tragedy. We must combat it by every possible means — all of us, every single day. Indifference toward this issue is unacceptable. It can enter people’s homes unexpectedly, destroy everything, and bring suffering and despair. This is an issue on which there can be no compromise.

We must study international experience and unite everyone’s efforts: young people, parents, teachers, the sports community, intellectuals, the private sector, and the state. If we work together, we will achieve results.

Hundreds of influential representatives of the sports world have initiated the “Sports Community for a Healthy Generation” program. As an individual, as someone who has lived, built, and created in this country, I am ready to dedicate all my personal efforts to the fight against this evil.

If we fail to raise a healthy generation, we will have nothing. This is an evil that recognizes neither age nor gender, neither social status nor political affiliation—neither former nor current. This is everyone’s problem. This is the problem of our future. Let us keep our country, our cities and villages, our courtyards, our buildings, and our homes safe from this scourge. By working together wisely and persistently, we will break the backbone of this evil.
