Armenian delegate to PACE: Walter will try to justify caviar received from Azerbaijan
Armenia has to do everything to ruin scenario of Azerbaijan and its allies – UK and Turkey – at PACE, member of the Armenian delegation to PACE Naira Zohrabyan toldArmenian News-NEWS.am.
The delegate recalled that British MP Robert Walter will present a report having an absolutely unacceptable title “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan”.
“During long period of time Walter refused to formally address the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic's government to visit Karabakh, as he has a pro-Azerbaijani approach. He tried to settle the matter with the help of Armenian delegates, but we were clear in our answer that we cannot say instead of Karabakh authorities whether he has the right to visit Karabakh,” Zohrabyan noted.
A few days ago, Walter, however, formally appealed to the representatives of Nagorno Karabakh in Armenia Karlen Petrosyan in order to obtain permission to visit Stepanakert. Karlen Petrosyan, according to Naira Zohrabyan, answered Walter that an official letter had been handed over to the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh, and now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of NKR is discussing the matter.
“The problem is that Walter hurries to submit the report, as in May he will be elected to the British Parliament which means that his mandate as a PACE delegate will expire on November 7. And Walter does everything to submit a report by that time in order to justify his share of caviar received from Azerbaijan,” the Armenian delegate added.
If he does not have time to submit a report, the Commission will appoint a new rapporteur, and Azerbaijan will do everything possible to prevent this.
The autumn session of PACE kicked off on September 28 and will last till October 2.
