An agreement was signed on December 19th between “Prosperous Armenia” Party and Ukrainian “Regions” Party. The agreement was about bipartisanship between these two parties.

Both parties mentioned the importance of friendship, mutual understanding and collaboration traditional relations development and firmness between Ukraine and Armenia. Accepting the development and contemporaneity of friendly and mutually beneficial relations, an agreement was acquired within the scope of bipartisan collaboration- to further the development of bipartisan and parliamentary collaboration between Armenia and Ukraine. The parties prioritize equal in rights, mutually advantageous relations subsequent development promotion and support in political, social-economic, scientific and in other spheres that are of mutual interest.

Parties expressed their willingness to activate the bilateral collaboration, exchanging at regular intervals delegations and information about current activities and about Party’s formation experience. As it is stated in agreement both “Prosperous Armenia” Party leader and Ukrainian “Regions” Party leader considered it very important to collaborate in the scope of international organizations and congresses, where their representatives or delegations are presented. It is preferable to discuss the questions that are of mutual interest beforehand in order to coordinate positions and in order to work out the strategy of cooperation which is determined on realization of the agreement. It is stipulated in the agreement, that the terms of meetings and consultations, as well as their standards and questions to be discussed will be decided by the parties beforehand.The agreement was signed by “Prosperous Armenia” Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan and Ukrainian “Regions” Party leader Viktor Yanukovich. During the agreement signing ceremony the representatives of political authorities and deputies of Ukrainian Assembly (“Rada”) were also present.

During the meeting which took place on December 19 in Ukraine Gagik Tsarukyan and Viktor Yanukovich also discussed the questions for reducing all the negative consequences the world financial crisis caused. During the negotiations “Prosperous Armenia” Party leader and Ukrainian “Regions” Party leader decided ways for bilateral dialogue extension in order to fortify Armenian-Ukrainian relations.
