Under the auspices of the President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia Gagik Tsarukyan arm wrestling Armenian championship was held in memory of Ashot Sargsyan. More than 300 arm wrestlers participated at this national tournament. The prize fund of tournament was 12 million drams.

The final performances of the strongest arm wrestlers of Armenia watched the president of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, the honorary president of the Armenian Federation of Arm wrestling Gagik Tsarukyan. In his speech, the president of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia stressed the importance of developing this sport in Armenia and that the athletes who hold high the honor of Armenia in the international arena will be awarded.
