OPENING CEREMONY OF THE INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT AFTER NOCA PRESIDENT GAGIK TSARUKYAN TOOK PLACE

On 12th of April in the Sports-Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan began an international boxing tournament after NOCA President Gagik Tsarukyan. The tournament is being held for the second time and compared with the previous one number of participating countries and boxers doubled. More than 130 strongest boxers from 18 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and America will compete for the title of winner. Fights will take place on April 12-16.Under the rules of the International Boxing Federation fights will take place in 10 weight categories.
For the official opening of the event and greeting athletes, coaches and guests to the scene, was invited NOCA President Gagik Tsarukyan. NOCA President greeted those who present, wished good luck and fair competition. "This tournament is organized in Armenia for the second time and it will become a tradition. These sporting events give the opportunity for our athletes and coaches to meet again with their rivals, gain experience, to be prepared for the European and World Championships. I declare tournament open and wish you all fair competition and glorious victories "- said in his speech Gagik Tsarukyan.
After the opening ceremony boxers came out to the ring and prior stage fights began. The prize fund of the second international boxing tournament named after president of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia Gagik Tsarukyan account for 45 million drams. Holders of gold medals will receive 5,000 USD, and came in second and third place respectively will get 3000 and 1000 USD. Cash prizes will be awarded also to their coaches. This tournament has a tendency to become an Olympic qualifying. The finals of tournament will be held on 16th of April.
