On 27th September the Armenian national team participating in the World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya returned to Yerevan. At the championship in the Turkish city of Antalya our team finished the performance and returned to Armenia with gold, small gold and bronze medals.

Tigran Martirosyan became world champion and in his honor the Armenian flag was raised in Turkey and the anthem was heard. Weightlifter Ara Khachatryan won a little gold medal, but because of the injury could not participate in the competition for the championship. Weightlifter Meline Daluzyan returned to Armenia with a bronze medal with the overall result 251 kg.
At the airport Zvartnots returning from Antalya athletes met NOCА President Gagik Tsarukyan. Gathered at the airport thousands of fans, students and young people inspired by the brilliant performance of our athletes have met them with applause.

Mr. Tsarukyan congratulated all the athletes as they hold high the honor of the country with their brilliant performance. "The victory of our athletes is a victory and the pride of our nation" said in his speech, President of NOCA.
