Greeting all those who were present, Armenian National Olympic Committee president Gagik Tsarukyan mentioned that sports cycle of 2008 was very productive for Armenia. "We promised to our nation that we will bring at least one medal from Beijing Olympic Games but instead we brought six. We must also add to those victories the world chempion title in chess which is gained already the second time by our combined chess team . This proves that nothing is impossible. A hard work must be done. But I must also mention the fact that the year of 2008 uncovered all the shortcomings too, which must be eliminated. Now we are thinking about gaining a gold medal during London Olympic Games. And we will do everything to reach our goal. We have already agreed with the minister to give one more opportunity for principals and coaches to work an additional year. But we will also demand at the end of the year. If there is no progress in results then the principal of that particular sports school will have to concede his post. The same refers to coaches. Those who show a result will have the most honoured position and will be respected and awarded. And if not , we will have to say goodbye"- mentioned Mr. Tsarukyan in his speech.

Concluding his speech Gagik Tsarukyan nominated famous businessman and ex-wrestler Samvel Karapetyan’s candidature as a president of Armenian Wrestling Federation. The candidature was unanimously accepted. The speech of newly-elected president was short. "I am grateful for your trust. I assure you that I will fully justify your trust",- this is how was concluded Samvel Karapetyan’s speech.
